Traveling to the Venue:
The Holiday Inn Chicago-Elk Grove is conveniently located near O’Hare International Airport, about a 15-20 minute drive away. Taxis are readily available and cost about $20-25 one way (including a 15% tip). The hotel offers an airport shuttle, for which there may be a small fee. (Check with the hotel if you are concerned.) If you take the shuttle FROM the airport, make sure you are on the correct Holiday Inn shuttle–there are many other Holiday Inns in the area.
By public transit:
The recommended method of public transit from the city of Chicago is the CTA Blue Line to O’Hare Airport. From there, you can catch the hotel shuttle (see above) to make it to the event.
The hotel is not far from Interstate 90, if you are driving. There is plenty of free parking available at the hotel.
Need a place to eat during PUDDLE? See the info and maps below.
The hotel restaurant, Shelby Campbell’s Almost Famous Restaurant & Cocktail Lounge, has great food. It’s the site of the Saturday night post-PUDDLE group dinner (everyone’s welcome). For adult attendees of PUDDLE, it serves a variety of alcoholic beverages.
For fast food within walking distance, there is a Quiznos and a Panda Express across the street for sandwiches and Chinese food, respectively.
If you have access to a car, you have a few more options. Portillo’s, a local Chicago favorite, and McDonald’s are located a few blocks to the south. There’s also a Dunkin’ Donuts to the north.
Mitsuwa Marketplace is 3.5 miles from the hotel, so it’s just a quick 10-minute drive away! (However, it can get busy on Saturdays during lunch, so it may take a while if you want to have lunch there.) It has tasty Japanese, Korean, Chinese, and Japanese-American food. Don’t miss the Pastry House Hippo bakery tucked away inside the grocery store side of the market!
who’s the best PUD? while PUDDLE would like to claim that title, there can be only one.
